Sport is a form of physical activity which through casual or organized participation aim at expressing or improving physical fitness and mental wellbeing, forming social relationships or obtaining results in competition at all levels.
BVS hosts its Annual Primary Sports Day each year to commemorate this day which is filled with fervor and excitement amidst thrills, shrills and cheers as each and every student of the Primary has a fair chance of competing in at least one event.
This year the Annual Sports Day was held on Saturday 25th November, 2023 at the Karachi Parsi Institute Ground. Mr. Azdiar Homee Mobed, Past Virbaijeeite batch of 1978 of Soparivala House and a great sportsman who played Snooker and Billiard at National and International level. He also participated in Badminton Championship and Swimming Competitions. At present he is working as Director Strategy and Logistics with A.H Private Limited.
The Sports Day began with a colourful P.E Display by the students of Grades 4 /5. Each section of the primary had three races (one flat race and two novelty races) that went like clockwork. The races concluded with the Fastest House Relay which was won by the Lancelot House.
The most competitive event of the Sports Day was the Parents Race which had to be conducted four times as the number of participating parents exceeded the tracks. Kudos parents, we appreciate your dedication and love for BVS in making the day a memorable one. Well Done!!
The Chief Guest Mr. Azdiar Homee Mobed praised the School Management, the sports department and the faculty who helped out in making the Sports Day a success.
He congratulated the winners and applauded the efforts of the Primary students.
At the end of the programme our Principal Mrs. Mehernaz Bharucha announced the Gulbano S. Patel Primary Sports Trophy which went to both, the Lancelot and Quaid-e-Azam House this year.
