On Tuesday, November 15, 2022, the Aga Khan University, hosted The AKU President’s Challenge for Climate Solutions. Schools & colleges from all over Karachi were invited to participate in the Challenge and present their ideas and innovations for Climate Change.
A team of our students from the BVS Thunberg Society was selected to represent BVS at the competition.
The competition was extremely tough. There were two qualifying rounds in which each team had to present its ideas to different panels of judges who questioned them extensively regarding their ideas and projects. At the end of the two rounds, three teams were selected for the final round ; Aga Khan College Karimabad, Bahria College Karsaaz Cambridge Wing and BVS Parsi School.
The BVS team of students, Syed M Zain, Mahd Ahmed, Ali Noor, Ammar Ali and Shaheer Muhammad, all members of the BVS Thunberg Society, were declared the winners of the competition.
It was, indeed, a moment of well deserved plaudits & accolades for the winning team from BVS; not only had they proved themselves the best in a hard-fought competition, they had also contributed significantly to a durable solution to the looming crisis of challenges we face due to climate change.
They have also proved that collective action can have an incredible impact on Climate Solutions today – by coming together.
