The glorious day dawned bringing with it great joy, pride and a zeal that could be seen in every Pakistani.
At BVS Parsi High School one could see the students dressed in their national costumes and holding the beloved Pakistan’s flag.
At 7:45 am everyone gathered in the ground where the Art department had made a large flag with the help of grade 7 students.
At 8:00 am the national flag was hoisted and the school scouts and senior boys marched past the Flag and saluting it to the tune of Dil Dil Pakistan played by the school’s enthusiast band.
Syed Ehnaf Raza OF grade 9-C welcomed and congratulated everyone present on 71st Independence of our beloved Pakistan.
Speeches by Syed Ali Shan Naqvi of Rezashah House, Mir Muqsit Ali of Lancelot House, Munqad Raza of Soparivala House and Mirza Taha of Qaid e Azam House were thought provoking and full of fervour.
The Highligt of the morning were the performances by the four houses that depicted the culture, customs, dresses of the four provinces yet were oozing of National Spirit, Unity and Pakistan.
The Principal Mrs. Kermin Parakh then requested Mr. Maqtoob Siddiqui to give away the Principal’s Medal of Academic Session to M. Asad Majeed of grade 7-D, M. Shah Areeb of grade 8-C and M. Ali Saim Usmani of grade 5-A.
She reminded the students in her speech that a flag in hand, a flag on the car, a flag on the house or ever one on the chest does not make one a True Pakistani. A True Pakistani is one who loves Pakistan unconditionally, is willing to sacrifice, keep it clean, grow plants and trees, obey rules and regulations, works hard for its betterment and above all represent Pakistani at any international forums with Pride, Honor and Dignity.
She ended by thanking Mrs. Niloufer Nosherwani for judging the program. She announced the result of the day’s program.
1st Position Qaid e Azam House
2nd Position Lancelot House
3rd Position Soparivala House
She then announced the students’ Council of 2018 – 2019. After which sweet meat was distributed away all those present.
The program ended with teachers and domestic staff also dancing to National tunes while group pictures were taken of all the staff.
Let us pay for a change, a change for the better.
