On Thursday 17th March 2022, BVS Parsi High School and the Mama Parsi Girls’ Secondary School signed off on the Progression Grids for Zoroastrian Religion grades 1-10 to be included into the Single National Curriculum (SNC). After 75 years of its inception the Pakistan Government realized that minorities were at a disadvantage while doing ethics instead of Islamiyat and in some instances forced to do Islamiyat too. Keeping equality with students of all faiths BVS Parsi High School and Mama Parsi Girls’ Secondary School were asked by Dr. Mariam Chughtai, Director National Curriculum Council to develop a syllabus for the Zoroastrian / Parsi children. This was done keeping in mind the time constraint.
Both the schools welcomed Dr. Chughtai on Thursday 17th March, 2022 at
4: 00p.m. with the school band playing the National Anthem, both the school songs and the Parsi Anthem.
After the signing ceremony a “Haft-e-seen” table was displayed to commemorate Jamshedi Nauroze and the afternoon ended with a High-tea of Parsi as well as Iranian dishes.
