Sports is an important learning activity for students. Participation in school sports provides a sense of belonging and being part of a team. It also increases one’s self esteem and self-confidence besides giving students good exercise to make them physically strong and increase their stamina and strength.
BVS hosts its Annual Primary Sports Day each year which is a day filled with fervour and excitement amidst thrills, shrills and cheers as each and every student has a fair chance of competing in at least one event.
This year the Annual Primary Sports Day was held on Saturday 9th November 2019 at The Karachi Parsi Institute Ground. Ms. Irene Pearl, Principal Trinity Methodist Girls’ Higher Secondary School, was invited to grace the occasion.
The fun-filled glorious sports morning began with a colorful P.E. Display by the students of Grades 3/4/5, at the end of which the students formed the number 160 in connection with the school’s 160 years celebration and this was appreciated by all. Each section of the Primary had three races (one Flat Race and two Novelty Races) that went along like clockwork. The races concluded with the Fastest House Relay which was won by the Quaid-e-Azam House.
The Chief Guest, Ms. Irene Pearl praised the School Management, the Sports Department and the Staff members who helped out in making the Sports Day a success. She congratulated the winners and applauded the efforts of the Primary students for their discipline and sportsmen spirit.
At the end of the programme, our Principal Mrs. Kermin Parakh announced the GULBANU PATEL PRIMARY SPORTS TROPHY which went to LANCELOT HOUSE.
